*APPLICATIONS OPEN* Emergency Response Fund for First Nations, Inuit & Métis

APPLICATIONS OPEN for #CommunityCares2020 | #CommunautéSolidaire2020

It is with great honour that the Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance (IPAA) introduces the Community Cares: Emergency Response Fund for First Nations, Inuit and Métis Individuals working in the Arts, a community- based and led funding program developed in partnership with the Canada Council for the Arts | Conseil des arts du Canada, the Aboriginal Curatorial Collective/ Collectif des Commissaires Autochtones, The Indigenous Screen Office, and Inuit Art Foundation!

COVID-19 has deeply affected our communities in so many ways. Until performing arts venues open across the country, Indigenous performing artists will be without the necessary income to continue their practice. The effect of the COVID-19 crisis will be long lasting for our Indigenous performing artists.

With that in mind, we are extremely proud to announce a quick and simple funding opportunity for Indigenous artists, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, with the goal to distribute funds as widely as possible. We are proud to be launching Community Cares: Emergency Response Fund for First Nations, Inuit and Métis Individuals Working in the Arts.

This fund is open to individual Indigenous arts creatives whose practices and livelihoods have been affected by COVID-19. Each person may only apply once as we would like it to reach as many people as possible. Each individual will receive $ 1,000. Applying is simple and we do not require applicants to produce anything as a result of receiving this funding.

Please apply and share with your networks! Full application details can be found at
