Indigenous Artist

Joe Jackson was born and raised in the northern town of La Ronge. After years of classical training on piano, he decided to pick up the fiddle at the age of 13 after having heard his dad play “Baba O’Reilly” by “The Who.”

Since then, Joe has pursued any and all styles of music he could find. From Métis and French Canadian music to Jazz and Big Band to Irish and Cape Breton and Klezmer to Balkan.

Over the years, Jackson has played and toured extensively both as a soloist and as an accompanist for various bands, theatre ensembles and even with a baroque chamber orchestra.

Jackson currently lives in Saskatoon and is a new managing partner at a live music venue.
