Urban Mecca Media
Amanda Godda, 2spirit, Metis, Artistic Director at Urban Mecca Media, has been in and around the business side of music for over a decade. Graduating from Trebas Institute in 2016 Amanda’s experience spans across a host of areas including but not limited to; artist management/development, contracts, social media, marketing, sales & distribution, networking, event and tour management to name a few. Over the last few years Amanda’s focus has been in the private funding/grants, synch, Mentorship & consulting sector.
In 2018 Amanda embarked on her own entrepreneurial journey and created Urban Mecca Media. Urban Mecca Medias’ philosophy is to breathe creative life into the careers of emerging to intermediate level artists in need of direction and resources. A social media aficionado and influencer, Amanda has grown from a “by any means necessary” street team promoter at Rammit Records to Operations manager at an Ottawa based independent label, an Artist and Affiliate Relations Manager with a private Canadian entertainment funding corporation, Social Media Queen at Being Ya Eh Game, Event Curator for TIFF, Hospitality Team lead with Pride Toronto, and cohost of ChuucH Live Show among others — and now Artistic Director at Urban Mecca Media.
At Urban Mecca Media, we are aiming to be the much needed change that the Urban Music industry desperately needs, by bringing a positive spin back to music. Primarily focusing on Women, Indigenous, POC and LGBTQA2 artists possessing a lyrically oriented concentration that will showcase diversity, storytelling and conscious messaging that is lacking in today’s Urban Music. In tandem with our music focus, Urban Mecca Media produced events will be able to work with other established companies and artists throughout the city to build solid networking opportunities for our artists and partners alike.
