Indigenous Artist

Marisa Diamond is an Indigenous and Latina creator. She is graduate of the University of Michigan, where she completed a BFA in Interarts Performance, a joint degree between the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance and the Stamps School of Art & Design. With a deep interdisciplinary background, Marisa has a unique breadth of skills and experience.

Marisa is a seasoned performer, with experience in dance, acting, and circus arts. She has appeared in numerous feature, indie, and student films, as well as on the stage. She has performed trapeze and acrobatics across the U.S., and spent her 2016 summer performing under the big top as an acrobat.

​She is a creative film director and editor, interested in independent work, commercial advertising, branded content, and film and television production. Her skills include management & coordination, art directing, casting, editing, and location scouting. She is also the Founder and Director of the Circus International Film Festival.

She has a strong background in education. Marisa began coaching circus arts at the age of 13, and continues to do so with both youth and adult students. She has directed student theatre productions. Additionally, she served as a literacy tutor in the Detroit Public Schools system, and worked as a teacher in daycares and preschools.
