My name is Keenan Simik Komaksiutiksak and I am a two spirited Inuk artist from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. My passion for dance emerged at an early age and later gravitating towards dance and circus arts. Along side being a contemporary dancer I specialize in hand-balancing and floor work where I’ve acquired my TADA Hand Balancing Instructor Certificate and a BATD in acrobatics. I have had the amazing opportunity to have travelled to over 40 countries performing as a dancer and circus artist on AIDA cruises. A few of my show Highlights include: Sept moment du Joie video show with Cirque Éloize l, Le Monastère - Miikinakay in collaboration with Dave Courch and Turtle Lodge Art Direction; Guillaume Blais and Silvia Gertrúdix, and back up dancing for Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas at the opening ceremonies for the North American Indigenous Games 2017 Artistic director and choreographer; Santee Smith. Between my travels I always find my way back to my home studio, KaliAndrews Dance Company, to teach the skills I’ve acquired first hand. I hope to inspire dancers and all artists to pursue their dreams.
